The Cheater's Diet was developed by Dr. Paul Rivas based on the theory that a too-strict diet causes the metabolism to slow down, hindering weight loss. Occasional indulgences, however, prevent this. If you're on the Cheater's Diet, you're expected to eat a healthy, Mediterranean-style diet Monday through Friday. This involves filling your plate half full with fruits or veggies, ¼ full of lean protein, and ¼ full of whole grains. Then, from 9am on Saturday to 9pm on Sunday, cheating is not just allowed-it's required! Cheater's Dieters get to enjoy foods like chocolate, pizza, and cinnamon buns. The only thing that's not allowed is binging. That means, if you really can't eat just one Lays potato chip, that's not a good cheat food for you! The Cheater's Diet proves to cheaters everywhere that you can have your cake and eat it too-and lose weight to boot!
