Created by Dr. Barry Sears, the Zone aims to heighten weight loss by raising levels of the hormone glucagon, which can result in the quick burning of stored fat. Since we arent all mathematicians, however, it can help to mentally divide your plate into three sections. To follow the guidelines without getting crazy, eat about 3 ounces of low-fat protein, like chicken, then supersize the rest of your plate with healthy carbohydrates, such as veggies. Finish by adding a dash of monounsaturated fat, like olive oil. A day in the life of the Zone should include three meals and two snacks, which are to be consumed whether you are hungry or not. The Zone diet claims that by thinking like a mathematician, followers will lose about eight to ten pounds every month.
